Cooking with Kinsley

Posted on December 6, 2011 by Kinsley in IN THE KNOW - No Comments

Most of this newsletter has to do with food, but we have to maintain tradition and share one of our favorite recipes.  This one comes from Allison, and has been a family favorite for generations.  Perfect for the holiday season!

Emily Lee’s Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

¾ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon salt

Cream together butter and sugar.  Add molasses and egg, blend well.  Add all remaining ingredients to molasses mixture.  Mix well.  Chill cookie dough.

Roll dough into small balls and roll them in granulated sugar.  Bake on greased baking sheet 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees.
